This mother grizzly was out fishing in the rain with her cub.The cub would likely be referred to by researchers as a “COY” which stands for “cub of the year” The mother was aware of our presence and although we were careful to maintain a safe and respectful distance, she seemed to be uncomfortable. She positioned herself between us and her cub as if to tell us that we were close enough.
