Larch Valley's Golden Glow
Banff National Park, Alberta
Larch valley is one of the most picturesque locations during fall in the Canadian Rockies. Larches are the only Canadian deciduous conifers, turning golden and shedding all their leaves (needles) in fall. There is a short window of time during a two week period each year when larch valley becomes "golden" with colour. The backdrop of the ten peaks covered in a dusting of snow accents the grandeur of Mother Nature's scene! Beautiful clouds streaked across this scene over a period of a couple minutes creating a painted sky for such a magnificent moment. It was a Sunday afternoon in early October, an afternoon I won't forget.
