This was one of the largest male polar bears I had ever seen and I could feel the tension as I manuevered to capture some images of him. It took a long time to settle this bear and when he got up to indicate heÕd had enough of my presence I knew I was in trouble. I had just enough time to grab my gear and hit the throttle before this bear missed swiping the back of my snowmobile by 6 feet. My Inuit guide later commented that the bear was just trying to scare me- it worked! One more experience reminding me never to lose respect for mother nature.
