Lorde
Northern Canada
Wild wolves are elusive and secretive in nature. I was fortunate to experience a pack of eight timber wolves that was finishing up their capture of a whitetail deer. The pack was resting near the kill on a frozen lake while I sat about a kilometer away on shore. The wind was in my face, so they had no idea that I was there. As the late afternoon arrived the pack got up and decided to walk right in my direction! Lorde was the alpha male and was walking right at me as I lay in the snow on the shore edge. If I had not poked my head up above my camera, I am confident he may have walked right over top of me. An incredible experience with wolves in Northern Canada.
