Homer, Alaska
Alaska has always been a place where bald eagles have flourished, even when the population was on the brink of extinction in the late twentieth century. Bald eagles will migrate during the winter months if food is scarce but do well in cold climates as well. This soaring individual was returning from a fishing expedition off the coast of the Homer Spit.
