Stickin’ with Mom

These polar bear cubs were sticking close to mom as they made the long journey from their den site to the frozen ocean's edge. In this photograph one cub is giving mom a hug while another pulls itself up onto her back. The third is hidden from view. Mother polar bears will occasionally carry their cubs on their backs for periods of time while travelling.
