I photographed this bear over the course of a couple days. It is the same bear that appears in "Beat Up, Not Broken". He wasn't giving up on finding a girlfriend that spring. It was very late in the evening and I was near the safety of my vehicle when he emerged from the trees. I knew he was in the area, so I had been scouting around in hopes of spotting him. The intensity of this shot illustrates that this bear really meant business. I quickly got into my vehicle as I was sure he was serious. I wasn't taking any chances! Photographing grizzly bears is an intense activity, as they can be on you before you even know they are there. Safety is an important issue, as it should be with all wild animals.
