Fearless and Free
Northern Ontario
I spent 5 days in northern Ontario photographing golden and bald eagles. As I watched the bald eagles it got me thinking about their success story here in North America. In the 1950's, the number of bald eagles in North America had dropped to 412 nesting pairs. After the banning DDT in the 1970's, their numbers began to rise and today there are as many as 120,000 of these birds. The title "Fearless and Free" speaks of the unique characteristics of this species, they are fearless, they are survivors, and they are free to soar the skies once again.
