Homer, Alaska

Bald eagles mate for life and these two were likely a breeding pair. This photograph was taken in Homer, Alaska where they are fed throughout the winter by a woman named Jean Keene. She has been helping the eagles out for decades, ever since they were on the verge of extinction. They are such majestic birds and it is wonderful to see their numbers recovering like they are.
