Thus raven was photographed in the Canadian Rockies and is appropriately entitled "Snatcher". This member of the smart corvid family was scouting a picnic area looking for a free handout. You just can't set down your sandwich or food item without this opportunistic bird finding a way to snatch it and enjoy a tasty lunch on you. I guess it's one way to make a living! In the right light, their black feathers often take on beautiful iridescent shades of blues and purples.
