Pygmy Owls are the smallest owls in North America standing at only 16-18 cm tall. These fierce little owls prey on birds and mammals that are usually larger than themselves. At one point the owl was perched on a branch, then swooped down to capture a vole right at Jason’s feet! It then flew back up into the trees where he observed it devouring its prey.
