Mom's Watchful Eyes

I joined a friend who is very experienced in banding owlets. As he headed up the tree to open the nest box to band the owlets, out poked the head of the mother owl, and off she flew. To a nearby tree she retreated, almost fully camouflaged in the forest; only her eyes gave her away.
