Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario
Capturing this image was a challenge, as the waves gently rocked my boat back and forth. I managed to capture this special moment hand holding my 800 mm lens. For the first few weeks of their lives, the loon chicks are entirely dependent on their parents. Seldom do we see loon chicks ride on their parents' back. Although, they sometimes will when predators lurk in the waters below, or when they just want a ‘ride’. This image was an adorable gift from Mother Nature.
