I spent a few hours watching this young great grey owl one afternoon. These owls are the largest by length and are quite trusting, so I had a great experience photographing it. The owl was attempting to capture ground squirrels, however it came up empty handed each time. At one point the owl watched something fly across the sky for about 5 minutes. I pulled out my binoculars, but I couldn't see anything. I wonder what he could see that I couldn't?
